We listen to what you would like to achieve and then we can make suggestions as to which service will suit you the best. Depending on the initial colour of your teeth and the degree of whitening you wish to achieve, we can offer a system known as "Deep Bleaching" designed to achieve stunning, brilliantly white results which can last indefinitely. This system is ideal for people who want significantly whiter teeth or for people who have creamy/brown staining due to heavy smoking or brown banding type staining due to tetracycline staining.
The Deep Bleaching™ system combines several techniques and is regarded as the most effective tooth whitening technique known. The technique can get teeth significantly whiter than other systems and products and can lighten teeth to become up to 10-17 shades whiter.
It involves two visits to the salon/spa and a period in between visits wearing custom made teeth whitening trays at home. The teeth whitening trays are fabricated in our specialised dental laboratory. The trays are made using state of the art equipment which enables an excellent fit and seal, ensuring none of the whitening gel can escape or be diluted from the saliva in your mouth.
Shop bought or (over the counter) whitening trays i.e. boil and bite type will not provide the custom fit, comfort and seal required for the Deep Bleaching™ method of teeth whitening.
The Process
These days everyone wants whiter, brighter teeth. With so many whitening products on the market which one should you choose? Smile Direct's Deep Bleaching™ system offers better results time and time again, with more creative whitening results overall. The process begins with a salon/spa appointment during which we answer any questions you may have and the process is explained in detail. During this appointment our teeth whitening specialist will also supervise you in taking the impressions from which your custom whitening trays will be made. We will also take a record of your initial tooth shade allowing us to accurately measure the subsequent colour change as a result of the Deep Bleaching treatment.
The whitening trays are made from a clear, thin vinyl and are custom made for every individual ensuring they fit snugly and comfortably. The trays are made with a reservoir in front of each tooth. The whitening gel is then held over the front surface of the tooth and sealed at the gum line.
• First visit to the Salon involves taking impressions and a power light treatment which will effectively "open the pores" of the teeth and condition the teeth to accept the whitening gel. Very little, if any colour change in the teeth will be seen at this stage.
• Once the whitening trays have been made they will be posted out to you, along with 5 syringes of whitening gel with comprehensive and easy to follow instructions.
• Once receiving the trays you should insert them before sleeping and wear them overnight for two weeks. De-sensitising gel is provided but if undue sensitivity is experienced then we will advise the trays to be worn for two hours during the day instead of overnight. Everyone having treatment is individually supervised on a daily basis.
• Second visit to the Salon for another power light treatment and another shade reading taken. Maintenance whitening gel and toothpaste are provided.
